Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alan Karaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Eckstein!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eckstein loads up on a big right hand but Karaev slips the punch.
Eckstein swings for the body but Karaev moves out of range.
Alan Karaev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karaev looks for the body kick but Eckstein saw that one coming.
Karaev takes one on the button.
Eckstein misses with a looping left.
Eckstein thows a left - swing and a miss!
Karaev misses with a head kick.
Eckstein throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Karaev lands an overhand right.
A bone on bone clash there as Karaev blocks the leg kick.
Karaev blocks the body kick.
Eckstein lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Karaev tries to clinch but Eckstein moves away
and Eckstein counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Eckstein has Karaev up against the ropes in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Karaev misses with a knee to the head.
Karaev misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Eckstein struggles to land a body shot inside as Karaev controls his hands.
Karaev is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Eckstein is keeping busy.
Eckstein tries to throw a body punch but Karaev avoids it by throwing Eckstein back against the ropes.

Karaev is looking to control Eckstein's arms but Eckstein gets an underhook and turns him. Now Karaev has his back to the ropes.

Eckstein keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Karaev's efforts to push away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's time! Karaev's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Eckstein connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Eckstein looks to land a right hand but Karaev moved out of range.
Karaev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Karaev misses with a looping left.
Eckstein has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Eckstein there as he acknowledges the shot.
Eckstein lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Karaev lands with an overhand left.
Karaev takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Eckstein takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Karaev tries a head kick but it misses.
Eckstein steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Karaev.
Karaev throws a sloppy head kick and Eckstein moves out of range easily.
Karaev throws an off balance right hand
and Eckstein counters with a leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Eckstein is looking to score with low kicks.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Eckstein takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Eckstein tries to bum rush Karaev with a series of wild strikes but Karaev uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Karaev scores with the left hand. Eckstein knows he should have avoided that one.
Jason Eckstein seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Eckstein wants to land a leg kick but Karaev is out of range.
Eckstein gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Karaev jabs at Eckstein's body.
Eckstein throws a lazy right hand but Karaev sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Eckstein manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Eckstein lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Karaev or not.

Karaev trying to control the position but instead, Eckstein has worked for underhooks and has pushed Karaev into the ropes.
Eckstein lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Eckstein digs a right hand underneath Karaev's ribcage. Karaev let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Eckstein is leaning against Karaev and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Eckstein is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Eckstein lands an elbow inside that Karaev shrugs off.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Karaev is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Eckstein creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Eckstein showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Eckstein takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Eckstein works on Karaev's body with a couple of short punches.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Karaev is rocked!
A short body shot lands from Eckstein as the two fighters clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Oh Karaev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Karaev.
Eckstein lands a body shot.
Eckstein is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Eckstein lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Karaev backwards.
Eckstein breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Karaev with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Karaev looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Karaev get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Jason Eckstein!
Jason Eckstein decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
