Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luis Fierro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Bedford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luis Fierro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Bedford!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bedford moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Fierro throws out a powerful jab.

Bedford closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bedford lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bedford's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Bedford throwing strikes from guard but Fierro blocks nicely.
Bedford is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like Bedford might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnny Bedford has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Bedford drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fierro is letting Bedford control him for a moment.
Bedford advances to mount.

Bedford tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Bedford looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Bedford get's back to his feet.
Fierro throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Bedford fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fierro sprawls well initially but Bedford persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bedford content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Fierro misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Bedford is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fierro defends it well.
Bedford perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Bedford is looking for a kimura but Fierro is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bedford to get the leverage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bedford seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bedford thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fierro's head.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bedford moves nicely into side control.
Bedford tries to move to mount but Fierro blocks the move with his legs.
Bedford just content to control the position.
Let's hope that Bedford has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bedford decides to stand up, so the ref orders Fierro to his feet.
Bedford swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Fierro counters with a nice uppercut.
Fierro wants to clinch but Bedford slips to the side

and Bedford counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Bedford postures up in Fierro's guard and throws a big left but Fierro blocks it.
Bedford has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fierro is proving hard to escape from.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fierro trying to keep a closed guard but Bedford is proving a slippery customer.
Bedford controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Johnny Bedford.
Bedford throws the kick towards the body but Fierro avoids it.

Bedford instigates a clinch.
Bedford tries to pull guard but Fierro forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Fierro keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bedford's efforts to push away.

Bedford tries to break free but Fierro pushes him back against the cage.

Bedford breaks the clinch.
A head kick misses from Bedford.
Fierro lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Horrible takedown by Bedford or perhaps it was just good defense by Fierro which made him look bad.

Bedford changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fierro looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fierro is looking to reverse the position.
Bedford working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Fierro trying to remain calm as Bedford controls from the top position.
Fierro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fierro tries to get back to half guard but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Bedford wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fierro, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Bedford showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Bedford shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fierro as he jumps to the side.
Bedford shoots in and drives through. Fierro sprawls well.
Fierro keeps the fight on the outside.

Bedford shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bedford seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Bedford seems to be looking for submissions.

Fierro is defending against the submission attempts here by Bedford.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Well, if Bedford is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Fierro is trying to control but can't.

Bedford is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Fierro avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bedford.

Bedford is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fierro sees it coming and defends easily.
Bedford moves into full mount! Fierro won't be happy about that!
Poor strikes thrown by Bedford there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Bedford unloads with some shots from mount but Fierro bucks and avoids them well.
Fierro knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bedford on the ground.

Fierro holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Bedford tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Luis Fierro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johnny Bedford is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
