The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daedalus connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pearse. Pearse circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Daedalus connects with an inside leg kick.
Pearse tries to clinch but Daedalus moves out of range.
Pearse jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Daedalus throws a head kick but Pearse moves out of range.
Pearse checks a low kick from Daedalus.

Pearse will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Daedalus up against the cage.

Daedalus has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pearse uses from the top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pearse would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Pearse got a little sloppy there for a moment and Daedalus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pearse has managed to get both his arms back between Daedalus's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That was a close round but Adamh Pearse did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

That's time! Pearse's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Pearse lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Daedalus has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Daedalus and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Daedalus is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pearse is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pearse has escaped and now he's on top!
Daedalus seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Quintus Daedalus has got the better of the ground game so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Adamh Pearse just wasn't active enough.

I would just about give that final round to Quintus Daedalus.
I think Daedalus has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Adamh Pearse retains his title. It's always disappointing when a championship fight ends as a draw but that's what happens when you leave the fight in the judges hands!
