Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Hughs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jai McCracken!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughs moves out of range as McCracken throws a body kick.
Hughs wants to clinch up but McCracken keeps it at a distance.
Hughs pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hughs scores with a leg kick.
McCracken jabs Hughs right on the nose. Hughs blinks but takes it well.
McCracken scores with a sloppy right hand. Hughs should have avoided that one.
McCracken throws out a leg kick but Hughs moves out of range and McCracken only half commits.
A head kick by Hughs misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Hughs tries a head kick but it misses.
McCracken throws a chopping leg kick but Hughs manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

McCracken scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
McCracken passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hughs!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McCracken with good strikes from the mount here!
McCracken has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
McCracken throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
McCracken looking to control but Hughs is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

McCracken unloads with some shots from mount but Hughs bucks and avoids them well.
McCracken scores with a couple of good head shots there.

McCracken throwing strikes here but Hughs is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCracken thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
McCracken landing strikes, looking to finish!
Hughs is in all sorts of trouble here.
McCracken thowing shots but they're missing.
Hughs is trying to escape the mount.

Hughs is working hard here to advance position.
McCracken trying to control but he's not successful this time.
McCracken looking to ground and pound but Hughs is blocking nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A nice elbow there by McCracken.


Hughs is rocked!
McCracken sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Oh Hughs is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
McCracken is stalling here but it's allowed Hughs to get half guard.
McCracken wants to control but Hughs is keeping him busy.
Hughs seems to have got his legs back now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McCracken looks to land a strike but Hughs avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
McCracken working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
McCracken tries to free his leg and advance position but Hughs is retaining full guard.
McCracken working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
McCracken advances position into side control!
McCracken throwing strikes but Hughs manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
McCracken wants to control but Hughs postures up.
McCracken defending against the ground and pound.
McCracken manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hughs's best efforts.

Hughs wants to free his trapped foot but McCracken is holding on for dear life with his legs.
McCracken is controlling Hughs's trapped leg to prevent Hughs from advancing to side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jai McCracken hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hughs lands a high kick!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jai McCracken dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


McCracken throws a nice outside leg kick.
McCracken swats away the attempt to clinch by Hughs.
McCracken moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
McCracken looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hughs is fending him off so far but McCracken persists. Nope, Hughs circles away and we're back to standing.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McCracken lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hughs has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hughs and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

McCracken closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jai McCracken has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sloppy strikes there by McCracken.
McCracken advances to mount.
McCracken lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McCracken pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Poor strikes thrown by McCracken there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
McCracken looking to control and managing it successfully.
McCracken postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Hughs bigstyle! Two more strikes land for McCracken and the fight is over!

During a confident post fight interview, Jai McCracken thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
