Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cross's choice of entrance music: The New Black by Every Time I Die. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Cross!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cross fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Davis closes the distance and clinches up with Cross, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes Cross against the cage but Cross circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Davis wants to finish this one by submission but Cross is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Davis.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Davis throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Davis has hold of Cross's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cross manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cross has worked his arm free - good work by Cross!

Davis has an active guard here but Cross has managed to pass into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cross is on top in guard.

Cross is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Davis's shoulder. That is not cool.
Davis is looking to reverse the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cross stands up and beckons Davis to his feet.

Cross closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cross's waist but Cross gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.

Davis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Cross manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Davis is in all sorts of trouble here.
Cross controlling his opponent.
Cross's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, David Cross just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cross throws a series of punches but Davis moves out of range.

That was a close second round but I would say that Randy Davis will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Davis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cross can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Davis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Davis has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Cross is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Davis yanks on the arm and Cross is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Davis.
