The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angelis is looking to clinch.
Sonnen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sonnen wants it to stay on the feet.
Sonnen slaps away a takedown attempt from Angelis, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Angelis fails with a takedown attempt.

and Sonnen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Sonnen lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Sonnen stands and throws Angelis's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sonnen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sonnen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Angelis looks a forlorn figure.
Sonnen lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Sonnen drops a big elbow. That's hurt Angelis! More shots from Sonnen and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
