The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yaya tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Junior I manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Junior I looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yaya is fending him off so far but Junior I persists. Nope, Yaya circles away and we're back to standing.

Junior I gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Junior I wants to take the fight to the mat but Yaya manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Yaya lands a damaging elbow.

Junior I can't get the takedown.
Taj Yaya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hardcore Junior I.
Yaya comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Junior I is trying to push Yaya away but Yaya has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
