Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pekka Pikkarainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pikkarainen has chosen Apocalyptica - Path as his entrance music. Tyson Pearson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pekka Pikkarainen!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson throws a leg kick but Pikkarainen moved away.
Pikkarainen works the jab nicely.


It looks like Tyson Pearson has been cut.
Pikkarainen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pearson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Pikkarainen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pearson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pikkarainen has managed to get both his arms back between Pearson's legs - danger averted.

Pikkarainen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pikkarainen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pikkarainen wants to work for an arm triangle but Pearson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pikkarainen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Pikkarainen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pearson keeps working.

Pikkarainen is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Pearson to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Pearson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Pekka Pikkarainen really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that DJs Locker logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
