Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igor Nabokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nabokov comes to the cage accompanied by Sparks - The Who. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Rocky Patterson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rocky Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Nabokov. No joy for Patterson on that attempt.

Igor Nabokov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Patterson.

Patterson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nabokov uses from the top position.

Nabokov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Patterson on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Igor Nabokov just wasn't active enough.
Nabokov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Patterson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Nabokov tries to sprawl but Patterson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nabokov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Patterson is working away from the top position though.

Patterson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Nabokov is staying active underneath Patterson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Patterson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nabokov is just riding it out for now. Patterson eventually gives up the hold.

Patterson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Patterson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Patterson cracks Nabokov with a big right hand but Nabokov just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Patterson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Rocky Patterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Nabokov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Patterson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Nabokov counters with a left and a right that stings Patterson.
Patterson is looking to clinch but Nabokov is avoiding it.
Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nabokov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Patterson gets the takedown into side control.
Patterson wants to stand but Nabokov is controlling his arm.
Sloppy strikes there by Patterson.
Nabokov is not content to let Patterson control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Patterson throws an elbow but Nabokov slips to the side and avoids it well.

Patterson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nabokov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Patterson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nabokov to see if he's OK.

Patterson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nabokov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Nabokov is refusing to be controlled, as Patterson sits in half guard.

Nabokov looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Patterson is looking to stand up but Nabokov won't let him.
Rocky Patterson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Patterson stays in close to Nabokov's body and controls the position.

Rocky Patterson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Patterson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
