PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Franco Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Santiago Francisco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bad Motherfucker. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Santiago Francisco!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Francisco.
Francisco misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gomez.

Gomez is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Francisco still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Francisco has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

That was a close round but I would say that Franco Gomez will probably get the nod.

Francisco changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gomez tries to avoid it but Francisco manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gomez to the ground. Gomez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gomez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Francisco does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
