Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Schankelies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Red Rover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Klaus Schankelies has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schankelies stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schankelies wants it to stay on the feet.

Schankelies swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Rover pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Rover stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Rover continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

The referee is keeping an eye on Rover - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Schankelies breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Schankelies swings for the body but Rover moves out of range.
Schankelies misses the shot to the body.
Schankelies takes a swing at Rover's ribcage but misses.
Schankelies misses with a body shot.
Schankelies is looking to wear down Rover with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Rover rushes Schankelies and presses him up against the cage.
Rover has Schankelies pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Schankelies manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rover is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Schankelies to keep the fight standing.

Schankelies is trying to break free.
Schankelies wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rover putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Schankelies in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Rover drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Schankelies is pressed up against the cage. Rover has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Schankelies down to the mat. Schankelies avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Schankelies avoids a kick to the body.
Schankelies scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rover doesn't seem bothered though.
Schankelies comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rover is defended easily by Schankelies .

Rover closes the distance and clinches.
Schankelies looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Rover has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Schankelies avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Schankelies throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Schankelies swings for the body but Rover moves out of range.
Rover shoots in but no luck this time.

Rover gets a clinch.

Rover lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Schankelies is pressing down on Rover's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rover really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schankelies . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Schankelies is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Rover frees his head nicely. Oh but Schankelies has switched to an armbar! Rover is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
