The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patch shoots in and gets a takedown into Gonzales 's guard.
Patch with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Patch is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gonzales is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Patch working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Gonzales turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Patch off and cradles Gonzales 's limp body as Patch celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Cabbage Patch!
A determined Cabbage Patch didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
