The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn misses with a body shot.
Penn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Penn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Penn misses with an uppercut. Black saw that one coming.
Penn moves in looking to clinch but Black pushes him off.
Penn tries to clinch up but Black circles away and keeps his distance.

Penn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Black sprawls well initially but Penn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Penn is thwarting Black's attempts to control the position.

Black looking for submissions off his back.
Black is not content to let Penn control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Penn is working away from the top position though.
Black regains full guard. Nicely done.
Penn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Black has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Penn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Penn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Black is keeping the position for now.
Penn wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Black looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Penn is defending well. Black quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Penn has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Black celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
