Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Snapp!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snapp pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tonney connects with a solid leg kick.

Tonney darts in and clinches Snapp up against the cage.
Tonney stalling against the cage.
Tonney seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Snapp misses with a punch on the inside.
Snapp can't break the clinch.
Come on Tonney - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Snapp is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Tonney stalling against the cage.
Tonney prevents a body shot from Snapp.
Snapp wants to get back to striking at distance but Tonney won't allow it.
Snapp is trying to break free.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tonney taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by James Tonney.
Snapp throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tonney.
Snapp thows a body shot but no joy.
Snapp thows a body kick. Tonney tries to catch it but that hurt him.
A thudding body kick lands there by Tonney!
Crunch! Tonney slams his shin into Snapp's torso.
Snapp looks gassed!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tonney connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Snapp to the floor! Tonney dives in looking for the finish!


Snapp is rocked!


It looks like Bob Snapp has been cut.
Tonney perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Snapp is still in real trouble! Can Tonney finish him?
Tonney missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Tonney works his way into side control.
Snapp seems to have recovered his senses.
The referee asks Tonney politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tonney prefers to stall for the moment though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tonney postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ground and pound from Tonney seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Snapp seems a little lost for a moment, as Tonney dominates the positioning.
Snapp wants to get back to his feet.
Tonney is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Snapp's shoulder. That is not cool.
Tonney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tonney tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
A lull in the action here.
Tonney has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tonney throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Tonney controls the position.
Snapp sneaks back into half guard.
Tonney controlling the action here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee stands the fighters back up. James Tonney just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Snapp throws a leg kick
and Tonney finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Tonney gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Tonney controlling the action here for a moment.
Snapp wants to break free but Tonney has control.
Tonney lands a nice shot to the body.
Tonney changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Snapp fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Tonney clinches with his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Tonney throws a body kick that misses.
Snapp showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tonney.
Snapp looks to land a combination but Tonney avoids it well.
Snapp throws a sloppy head kick
and Tonney counters with a flying knee that drops Snapp! Tonney dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Tonney!
