The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fergisson moves into the clinch successfully.
Aconte using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Fergisson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Aconte scores with a knee to the head.
Fergisson managing to block the knees to the body from Aconte.
Fergisson really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Fergisson looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Fergisson jumps guard and drags Aconte to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Fergisson pulls Aconte in to control the position.

Aconte wants to get up but he can't break Fergisson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fergisson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fergisson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Aconte pushes Fergisson off and gets back to his feet.
Magnus Aconte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aconte connects with an inside leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Aconte throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Aconte tries a head kick but it misses.

Fergisson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fergisson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fergisson is looking to take a break and control but Aconte is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Aconte is trying to escape the position but Fergisson is controlling the position.

Fergisson has hold of Aconte's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Aconte tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Fergisson cranks the arm and Aconte screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Aconte, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
