The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Rico misses its intended target.
Givinaldo moves in looking to clinch but Rico pushes him off.
Givinaldo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Givinaldo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rico fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Givinaldo.
Rico misses with a low kick.

Givinaldo defending well as Rico loads up on a big left hand.
Givinaldo ducks right into an uppercut from Rico.
Rico lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rico misses with a jab, cross combination.

Givinaldo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rico tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Givinaldo is in Rico's guard.

Rico avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rico is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Givinaldo fails to land the takedown.
Givinaldo slips a jab from Rico.
Rico lands a nice hook to Givinaldo's body. Givinaldo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Givinaldo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Givinaldo avoids a kick to the body.
Rico fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Givinaldo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Givinaldo fails with an attempt to clinch.

Givinaldo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rico's guard.
Rico controls Givinaldo momentarily but Givinaldo frees himself.
Givinaldo wants to pass the guard but Rico is keeping the position.

Givinaldo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Givinaldo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rico quickly recovers to half guard.
Rico knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Givinaldo on the ground.
