Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Worsely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Mark Worsely!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Davis!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Davis there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Worsely scores with a crisp jab that stopped Davis in his tracks.
Worsely throws a leg kick but Davis sees it coming and moves out of range.
Worsely on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Davis throws a nice outside leg kick.
Davis lands with a hook. Worsely tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Davis.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Worsely is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Worsely is working hard here to advance position.
Davis working the ground and pound.
Davis lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The strikes coming from Davis are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Worsely tries to improve position but can't.
Worsely struggling a bit here.
Worsely is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Davis is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Davis creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Worsely sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Worsely sneaks back into half guard.

Davis is thwarting Worsely's attempts to control the position.
Worsely is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Davis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Worsely has his hands clasped together around Davis's back. He's all about the action.
Worsely trying to control from the bottom.
Worsely regains full guard. Nicely done.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Davis wants to control from the top but Worsely keeps moving.
Davis is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Davis postures up.
Davis is looking to work some ground and pound but Worsely has wrist control.

Davis forces his way into half guard.
Davis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis slips a nice elbow through Worsely's hands, connecting with Worsely's forehead.
Worsely is refusing to be controlled, as Davis sits in half guard.
Davis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Davis wants to take a breather but Worsely is having none of it.
Worsely is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Davis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Davis's back!
Davis is trying to break free.
Worsely lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

I really don't envy Davis right now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Can Davis hold on?! Worsely is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Davis is in bad spot here.

Worsely is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Davis has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Davis is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Davis can't escape the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Worsely is landing with strikes from the back.
Worsely is punishing Davis with some ground and pound.
Worsely looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Worsely scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Worsely will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Worsely takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Worsely takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Worsely ducks right into an uppercut from Davis.
Worsely lands a nice hook to Davis's body. Davis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Davis lands a jab-cross combination.
Davis throws a shot to the body.
Davis takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Joe Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Worsely throws a head kick that half lands.
Donk. Davis catches Worsely right on the button with a cross.
Worsely tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Davis misses with a looping right.
Davis slips under a jab.

Davis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Worsely has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Worsely sneaks back into half guard.
Worsely regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis tries to free his leg and advance position but Worsely is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Worsely is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Davis wants to pass the guard but Worsely is keeping the position.
Worsely wants to sweep but no luck.
Worsely manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Worsely dominating with strikes here.
Worsely scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Davis working to try and regain half guard.
Worsely putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Davis is in all sorts of trouble here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Worsely raining down shots from the mount!
Mark Worsely overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Davis keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Davis takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Davis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Worsely looking to finish Davis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Davis!
Worsely lands a big elbow.
Worsely putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Davis is still in real trouble! Can Worsely finish him?
Worsely is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Davis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Worsely postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Davis in real trouble here! The ref calls for Davis to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Worsely!
