The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hillis tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rogers counters with a head kick that drops Hillis to the mat! Hillis scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rogers throws a series of punches but Hillis avoids them all with ease.
Hillis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hillis throws a jab but it's blocked by Rogers.
Hillis pushes Rogers up against the cage in a clinch.
Rogers is trying to break the clinch but Hillis is controlling him.
Rogers manages to break the clinch.
Hillis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rogers lands a big uppercut and Hillis crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hillis looks OK. Rogers waves Hillis back to his feet!
Hillis is rocked!
It looks like Peyton Hillis has been cut.
Rogers connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Hillis to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Rogers!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jimmy Rogers!
After the fight, Jimmy Rogers was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
