The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hertz thuds his right hand into Chandler's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like James Chandler has been cut.

Chandler defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hertz.
A left lands for Hertz.
Nice uppercut lands for Hertz. That snapped Chandler's head back.
Chandler shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hertz is trying to defend but Chandler finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Dick Hertz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hertz shoots in for a takedown but Chandler shows good takedown defense.
Hertz is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Hertz slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
