Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michal Karpecny!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Wagon!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karpecny takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Karpecny wants to clinch up but Wagon keeps it at a distance.
Michal Karpecny seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wagon shoots for a takedown but Karpecny saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wagon lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Michal Karpecny has been cut.
Wagon throws a leg kick
and Karpecny counters with a head kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wagon fails with an attempt to clinch.
Karpecny misses the shot to the body.

Karpecny gets tackled into the cage by Wagon. Wagon maintains the clinch.

Wagon manages to break the clinch.
Karpecny will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Wagon rushes Karpecny and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Wagon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wagon throws a leg kick which misses Karpecny's front leg but catches the back leg as Karpecny tries to avoid it.
Wagon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wagon throws a head kick that misses.

Wagon misses with a takedown attempt - Karpecny sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Wagon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wagon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Wagon decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Horrible takedown by Wagon or perhaps it was just good defense by Karpecny which made him look bad.
Michal Karpecny has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Wagon.

Nice takedown defense from Karpecny. No joy for Wagon on that attempt.
Wagon lands with a nice combination. Karpecny backs away looking to recover.

Karpecny drives through with a takedown into Wagon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wagon wants to stand and escape but Karpecny is having none of it.
Karpecny is fighting to break Wagon's control of his arms but Wagon is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Wagon wants to sweep but no luck.
Karpecny postures up.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Wagon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Wagon has taken the fight to the clinch.

Wagon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Karpecny keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice straight punches there by Karpecny. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Karpecny.
Wagon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Karpecny sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wagon somewhat.
Karpecny lands a two punch combo.
Karpecny feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Wagons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Wagon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wagon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Karpecny.

Wagon has a takedown stuffed.
Karpecny throws a right hand that Wagon ducks under and follows up with a left that Wagon also avoids with ease.
Wagon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Karpecny circles away.
Wagon on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Wagon instigates a clinch.
Wagon goes for a takedown in the clinch but Karpecny prevents it.
Wagon tries to break free but Karpecny pushes him back against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Karpecny is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Wagon closes the distance and clinches.

Wagon successfully pulls guard.
Wagon wants to get back to his feet but Karpecny is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Wagon pulls Karpecny in to control the position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Wagon's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Wagon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Wagon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Karpecny pinned against the cage. Karpecny gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Karpecny slips a jab and a cross from Wagon.
Wagon shoots in for a takedown but Karpecny shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Karpecny looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Wagon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Karpecny avoids it really well and circles away.

Karpecny throws a series of punches but Wagon moves out of range.
Wagon keeps the fight on the outside.
Wagon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wagon tries to close the distance and clinch but Karpecny swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wagon misses with a hook.
Wagon scores with a kick to the midsection.
Karpecny doesn't manage to clinch there - Wagon circles away.

Karpecny is trying to break the clinch but Wagon has him pressed against the cage.

Wagon successfully pulls guard.
Wagon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Karpecny has gone for a leg lock! Wagon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Karpecny's guard.

Karpecny wants to stand up but Wagon is controlling him.
Wagon advances to half guard.
Wagon prevents Karpecny from standing back up.
Karpecny is trying to escape back to his feet but Wagon uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Karpecny on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Karpecny tries to get out of the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Karpecny is trying to escape the position but Wagon is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Wagon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Wagon tries to clinch but Karpecny is having none of it.
Karpecny is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wagon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wagon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Karpecny tries to avoid it but Wagon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Karpecny to the ground. Karpecny escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wagon shoots in but Karpecny avoids the takedown attempt easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Karpecny enables Wagon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Karpecny manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Wagon shoots for a takedown but Karpecny saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Wagon moves into the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Wagon has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Karpecny uses from the top position.

Wagon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Karpecny defends it easily.

Wagon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Karpecny is one step ahead there.
Karpecny pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wagon is keeping the position for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wagon has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Karpecny doesn't defend quickly enough and Wagon has managed to lock this one up! Can Karpecny escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Wagon on a fantastic submission victory.
