PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh McCuistion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luck Chiddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCuistion comes to the cage accompanied by Sweatin' to the Oldies. Chiddell has chosen DMX - Where my dogs at as his entrance music. Luck Chiddell will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh McCuistion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luck Chiddell!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCuistion scores with a kick to the body.
Chiddell shoots in looking for a takedown. McCuistion tries to sprawl out of it but Chiddell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McCuistion manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McCuistion scores with a takedown into Chiddell's guard.
Chiddell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Chiddell trying to control the position.
Chiddell tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McCuistion trying to control but Chiddell is working from the bottom.
Chiddell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
McCuistion working some strikes from top position.
McCuistion really is a fat lump.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells McCuistion's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by McCuistion.

McCuistion taking a breather here.
Chiddell can't do much from the bottom here.

McCuistion is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Chiddell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
McCuistion throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Chiddell is looking for a sweep.
McCuistion lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chiddell takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCuistion tries for a kimura but Chiddell is defending well.
McCuistion has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McCuistion wants to take a breather but Chiddell manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for McCuistion.
Chiddell keeping moving, preventing McCuistion from controlling successfully.
McCuistion is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Chiddell throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

McCuistion stands and steps away. Chiddell gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Chiddell looks gassed!

McCuistion has closed the distance and engaged Chiddell in a clinch.
Chiddell looking to slow down the pace here.

McCuistion turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McCuistion manages to end up in side control.
McCuistion advances to full mount.
Chiddell trying desperately to get to his feet.
McCuistion trying to control but Chiddell is having none of it.
McCuistion looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
McCuistion lands a heavy elbow.
A nice elbow there by McCuistion.
McCuistion is in the full mount, landing strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McCuistion working the ground and pound effectively.

McCuistion is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Chiddell can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
McCuistion postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chiddell looks a forlorn figure.
McCuistion trying to control but Chiddell is having none of it.
McCuistion lands a big elbow.
Chiddell tries to reverse the position but McCuistion maintains control.

McCuistion is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by McCuistion!
