PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Troy Slamen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronald Belford Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slamen comes to the cage accompanied by Jaws Theme. Scott has chosen Big Balls by AC/DC as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Troy Slamen has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Troy Slamen seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott throws a quick inside leg kick.
Slamen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scott tries to avoid it but Slamen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scott to the ground. Scott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Scott with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Slamen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scott as he avoids it easily.
Slamen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Scott lands a lovely overhand right.
Scott misses with a two punch combination.
Nice takedown defense from Scott. No joy for Slamen on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troy Slamen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Scott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Slamen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Scott pushes Slamen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Scott forces Slamen back against the cage and clinches.

Slamen is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Scott breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Scott slaps away a takedown attempt from Slamen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Slamen shoots in but Scott avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Scott moves out of range as Slamen strikes.
Scott takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Slamen fails with a takedown attempt.
Scott leaves Slamen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ronald Belford Scott is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fighters circling - Scott throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Scott stuffs the takedown.
Slamen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Scott circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scott's corner calls for a 1-2. Scott obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Slamen misses with a looping right.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Scott, as that shot connected.

Slamen is rocked!
Scott pounces like a tiger and cracks Slamen with a vicious hook! Slamen is down but not out! Scott follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
