Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arlan Kypshak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason Shaw will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arlan Kypshak !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mason Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kypshak throws a head kick that misses.
Kypshak misses with a jab to the body

and Shaw counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kypshak won't be happy with that.
Shaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kypshak is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Shaw stands up.
Kypshak is breathing heavily.

Shaw closes the distance and pushes Kypshak back into the cage.

Shaw gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kypshak regains guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shaw stands and throws Kypshak 's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Shaw in side control lands a decent elbow.
Kypshak could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Shaw decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Shaw has closed the distance and engaged Kypshak in a clinch.

Shaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Shaw can't get the takedown.
Shaw managing to block the knees to the body from Kypshak .
Shaw misses with a punch on the inside.
Kypshak blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Shaw's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice sprawl there from Kypshak as Shaw shoots in.

Kypshak throws a nice looking combination but Shaw bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Shaw is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kypshak is defending well.

Kypshak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shaw shoots in looking for a takedown but Kypshak manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shaw's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Shaw thuds his shin into the meat of Kypshak 's side.

Kypshak breaks the clinch.
Kypshak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shaw moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Shaw uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Shaw fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kypshak , pushing him back against the cage.
Shaw tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kypshak just stands there and leans against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kypshak is trying to break free.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kypshak is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Kypshak is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Shaw is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Shaw changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kypshak fights it off and pushes away nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kypshak feints a jab promting Shaw to slip. Kypshak then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shaw slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Shaw has had enough of the clinch but Kypshak keeps him there for the moment.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kypshak .

Shaw keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kypshak 's efforts to push away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kypshak stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kypshak wants it to stay on the feet.

Shaw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kypshak 's waist but Kypshak gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shaw off to one side.

Kypshak creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Shaw's defenses.

That was a close second round but I would say that Arlan Kypshak will probably get the nod.

Shaw stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kypshak .
Shaw shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kypshak as he avoids it easily.
Shaw misses with a low kick.
Kypshak displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shaw.
Shaw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kypshak pinned against the cage. Kypshak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Arlan Kypshak .
I think Kypshak has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
