Nowell comes to the cage accompanied by Doin Time. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
San Pedro pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
San Pedro circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fighters circling - San Pedro throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
San Pedro misses with a takedown attempt - Nowell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nowell tries to close the distance and clinch but San Pedro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
San Pedro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nowell sprawls well. Nowell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. San Pedro gets slowly back to his feet.
Nowell moves in looking to clinch but San Pedro pushes him off.

A looping hook to the body misses from San Pedro. Nowell does a little dance to reset his feet.
San Pedro misses with a hook. Nowell ducked under it nicely.
Gregorio San Pedro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nowell tries to close the distance and clinch but San Pedro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and San Pedro counters with a crisp right hand that drops Nowell! San Pedro lets Nowell back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nowell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from San Pedro.
San Pedro thuds a left hand into Nowell's body.
Nowell wants to clinch.

Nice sprawl there from Nowell as San Pedro shoots in.
Bradley Nowell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregorio San Pedro.

Nowell drives through and clinches with San Pedro against the cage.

San Pedro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

San Pedro sends Nowell crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! San Pedro is motioning to the referee to let Nowell up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Nowell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
San Pedro fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nowell looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nowell seems to have got his legs back now.
and San Pedro counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Nowell! He's just covering up as San Pedro starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

After winning the bout, Gregorio San Pedro thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
