The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Cornell.
Cabbage Face seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Face doesn't manage to clinch there - Cornell circles away.

Face has closed the distance and engaged Cornell in a clinch.

Face gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Face throwing shots but Cornell is blocking nicely.
Face passes the guard and advances to mount!
Face has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cornell tries to reverse the position but Face maintains control.
Cornell is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Face is landing with some decent strikes but Cornell is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Cornell tries to reverse the position but Face maintains control.

Face cracks Cornell with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Cornell keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Face pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
