Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luegos Firo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Norton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Firo shoots in looking for a takedown. Norton tries to sprawl out of it but Firo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Norton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Norton misses with a takedown attempt - Firo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Firo lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Norton sprawling to the canvas. Firo follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Norton hang on?

It looks like Samuel Norton has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Firo stalling away here and it's allowed Norton to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Norton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Firo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Firo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Norton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Firo defends it easily.

Norton is looking for a sweep. Firo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Firo is taking a breather. Norton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

and Norton counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Norton wants to clinch up but Firo keeps it at a distance.

Firo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Norton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Firo gets to his feet - Norton follows without any prompting.

and Firo counters with a series of strikes. Norton will be more careful next time no doubt.
Horrible takedown by Norton or perhaps it was just good defense by Firo which made him look bad.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Norton enables Firo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Norton manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Firo goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Norton has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Firo but great work by Norton.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Luegos Firo.
