The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frein shoots and misses
and Lollo counters with a nice uppercut.
Lollo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Frein closes the distance and clinches up with Lollo, looking for a takedown. Frein pushes Lollo against the cage but Lollo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jake Frein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Frein shoots in but no luck this time.
Giorgio Lollo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Frein.
Frein throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lollo's waist but Lollo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Frein off to one side.
Frein will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Frein looks for a takedown but Lollo sprawls well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lollo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Frein as he avoids it easily.

Lollo lands a left and a right that send Frein crashing to the mat, dazed. Lollo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Lollo's jab looks to have found its range, popping Frein under the eye.

Lollo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Lollo is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Frein has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Frein!

Lollo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lollo.

Frein shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lollo's guard.

Frein gets to his feet. Lollo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Frein changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lollo tries to avoid it but Frein manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lollo to the ground. Lollo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Frein shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Frein showed some decent athleticism there.

Frein seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Lollo is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
