Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jan Banan!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banan tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Mowbray counters by clinching up.
Banan misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mowbray.

Banan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mowbray is defending well for now.

Banan wants to get up but he can't break Mowbray's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Banan wants to clinch but Mowbray slips to the side

and Mowbray counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Mowbray is breathing heavily.
Mowbray would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Mowbray might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mowbray tries to free his leg and advance position but Banan is retaining full guard.

Banan fails in his attempt to clinch.

Banan doesn't manage to clinch there - Mowbray circles away.

Mowbray blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Banan wants to stall.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jan Banan.
Banan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mowbray manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fight stays on the outside here - Banan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mowbray shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Banan napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Banan is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mowbray is controlling him well.

Mowbray is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Banan will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Banan is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mowbray has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Mowbray moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tony Mowbray just wasn't active enough.
Banan tries to clinch but Mowbray is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jan Banan dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Banan bucks up and tries to throw Mowbray off but instead Mowbray has got his back!

Mowbray sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Banan taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tony Mowbray!
