Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Westwood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 24 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Young!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westwood takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Young throws a sloppy head kick and Westwood moves out of range easily.
Young looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Young keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


It looks like Andy Westwood has been cut.
Young lands a nice shot that snaps Westwood's head back.
A decent looking cross lands there for Young.
Westwood blocks a head kick by Young.
Westwood showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Young.
Young misses with a double jab.
Some wild striking there from Young.
Young throws a head kick that half lands.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Young tries to bum rush Westwood with a series of wild strikes but Westwood uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Westwood throws a one two combo.

and Westwood counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Young thinking.

Young closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Westwood did well to prevent Young getting side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Westwood moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Young wants to stand but Westwood has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Young won't allow Westwood to sweep him here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Westwood had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Young defends it easily.
Young is looking to stand up but Westwood won't let him.
Westwood is trying to control the position but Young postures up.

Young gets to his feet - Westwood follows without any prompting.
Young throws a sloppy head kick
and Young takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Young.

Westwood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Young.
Young rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Westwood moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Young darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Westwood tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Young was well out of range. Poor timing from Westwood.
Young tries a head kick but it misses.
Young pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Young closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Westwood's guard.
Westwood doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Westwood tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Westwood had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Young defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Young postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Westwood is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Young, into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Young isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Westwood stacks Young on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Westwood!
Westwood lands a nice forearm strike.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Westwood looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Young is avoiding damage well.
Westwood is working Young over with some ground and pound from side control.

Westwood looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alexander Young will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Andy Westwood's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Westwood enables Young to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Westwood manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Young bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Westwood's head.

Young cracks Westwood with a right hand to the side of the head.
Young walks into a straight right hand from Westwood.
Young throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Young tries to land a front kick but Westwood steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Alexander Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Young misses with a straight left.
A head kick by Young misses
and Westwood counters with a right hand to the body.
Young throws a right hand that Westwood ducks under and follows up with a left that Westwood also avoids with ease.
Young fails to land with a series of punches.
Young is breathing heavily.
Young throws a big shot that misses.
Young looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Westwood blocks a head kick by Young.
Young lands a head kick. Westwood smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Young throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Young misses with a head kick.
Young misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Westwood moves into range and connects with a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Young lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Westwood circles away quickly and effectively.
Young swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Young looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Westwood!
Westwood gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Westwood works his way to full guard. Good work.

Young tries to stand but Westwood is controlling from the bottom.

Westwood is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Young has his hands clasped together but Westwood extends and breaks Young's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Westwood.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Andy Westwood!
Andy Westwood really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that KAISER logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
