Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rasputin comes to the cage accompanied by Evil Scarecrow- Robotatron. Dawson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cog - Run kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Piotr Rasputin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Piotr Rasputin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tony Dawson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rasputin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rasputin digs a good hook to Dawson's body.
Rasputin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rasputin throws a shot from downtown. Dawson moves away and avoids it.
Rasputin just misses with a punch to the body.

Rasputin rushes Dawson and presses him up against the cage.
Dawson can't find room to land a body shot as Rasputin controls the action.

Dawson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rasputin is looking to clinch.
Dawson jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Rasputin sizes up Dawson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Rasputin pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dawson is out of range and Rasputin settles back down.
Rasputin just misses with a punch to the body.

Dawson tries to keep at a distance but Rasputin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dawson swings wildly with an uppercut but Rasputin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dawson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Dawson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Rasputin is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Dawson dives into side control.

Dawson is trying to ground and pound but Rasputin uses the momentary lack of control by Dawson to regain half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dawson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dawson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Piotr Rasputin will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dawson misses with a takedown attempt - Rasputin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Rasputin throws out a leg kick but Dawson moves out of range and Rasputin only half commits.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Dawson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
No luck for Dawson with that takedown attempt.
Rasputin tries to clinch up
and Dawson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dawson misses with the combination.
Rasputin has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Rasputin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dawson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That was a close second round but I would say that Piotr Rasputin will probably get the nod.

Dawson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rasputin circles away quickly and effectively.

A jab from Rasputin finds it's way through Dawson's defenses.
Dawson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rasputin.

Dawson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Rasputin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dawson's efforts to push away.
Rasputin lands a good knee to the midsection. Dawson won't want to take too many of those.
Rasputin tries a body shot but Dawson blocks it.
Rasputin comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Rasputin creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dawson's defenses.

Dawson jumps guard and drags Rasputin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Piotr Rasputin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rasputin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
