The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miles gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Martinez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Martinez content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Martinez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miles on the ground.

Miles has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Martinez avoids a strike by Miles and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Miles's guard! Fantastic escape!

and Martinez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Miles's guard.

Martinez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Martinez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Miles on his heels. He'll look to pass Miles's guard now, I'm sure.

Martinez has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Miles to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Martinez is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Miles pulls down on the head and he's put Martinez to sleep! This one is all over!
