PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Shota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bonald Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shota kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Must be the Feeling. The crowd seem to be enjoying Scott's choice of entrance music: Hell's Bells. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adrian Shota!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bonald Scott!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shota, pushing him back against the cage.
Shota presses Scott against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Shota tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Scott blocks an uppercut.

Scott has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Shota clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Scott avoiding Shota 's attempts to control his hands.
Shota tries to escape the position.
Shota wants to control his opponent's hands but Scott gets his hands free.

Scott is persistently looking for the submission but Shota is defending it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Scott is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Shota knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Shota for a finish.
Well, with Scott on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Shota is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Shota trying to control the action but Scott just sinks the hooks in.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shota trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shota accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Scott working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shota.
Shota slips nicely into half guard.
Shota is pressing down on Scott's thigh, looking to free his foot. Scott is holding on for now.
Scott is refusing to be controlled, as Shota sits in half guard.
Shota wants to pass the guard but Scott is defending well.

Shota is looking for a kimura but Scott is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shota to get the leverage.
Scott won't allow Shota to pass to mount.
Scott is not content to let Shota control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shota content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Scott wants to improve his position but Shota is controlling well.

Adrian Shota has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Shota stuffs the takedown attempt from Scott. Scott gets slowly back to his feet.
Scott moves out of range as Shota throws a body kick.
Shota moves out of range of the leg kick from Scott.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scott motions for Shota to come forward. Scott throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A right-left combo lands from Shota.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shota walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Scott checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adrian Shota dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Shota fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Scott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shota pinned against the cage. Shota gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Scott fails with the takedown.
Shota tries to land a front kick but Scott steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Scott walks into a left hand.
Scott takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Adrian Shota seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shota finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shota throws a monster overhand right that drops Scott! Shota follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adrian Shota!
A very excited looking Adrian Shota made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
