The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lowe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lowe stuns Rutan with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Lowe looks to land a combination. Rutan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Lowe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rutan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Lowe counters with a big head kick but Rutan shrugs it off.
Lowe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Lowe counters with a head kick that drops Rutan to the mat! Rutan scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lowe connects with a stiff jab that staggers Rutan - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
