The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba throws a head kick but Photirat moves out of range.
Sakuraba scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Photirat looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sakuraba scores with a sloppy right hand. Photirat should have avoided that one.

Sakuraba drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sakuraba postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Photirat can't keep his opponent in guard - Sakuraba advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Sakuraba is looking for a kimura here.

Sakuraba thows a huge punch but Photirat dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sakuraba is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Photirat defends it well.

Sakuraba is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sakuraba uses his free foot to push down on Photirat's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Photirat.

Sakuraba working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Photirat turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Sakuraba off and cradles Photirat's limp body as Sakuraba celebrates with his corner.
