Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brian Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Turner!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner throws a left and a right that both miss
and Johnson counters with a three punch combo that has Turner backing up. Turner nods at Johnson to acknowledge the strikes.
Turner pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt

and Turner counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Johnson!
Johnson is trying to improve his position.
Turner lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Johnson gets back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Turner wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position.

Turner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Johnson is keeping the position for now.
Turner is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Johnson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Turner uses it to pass to side control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Turner has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Johnson!

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Turner defends it easily.
Turner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Johnson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Turner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Turner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Johnson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Turner's best efforts.
Johnson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Turner content to control rather than advance.
Turner lands strikes from half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Turner has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Turner dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Turner shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Johnson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Turner throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Turner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Turner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it.

Johnson tries to bum rush Turner with a series of wild strikes but Turner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A looping hook to the body misses from Turner. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.

so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Johnson advances to half guard.
Turner is looking to control Johnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Turner avoid being mounted?
Johnson misses with a head shot. Turner uses the momentum to regain guard.

Johnson wants to pass the guard but Turner is keeping the position.
Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Turner is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Turner has momentary wrist control but Johnson slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Johnson wants to stand but Turner has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Turner swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Turner has Johnson pulled in close to control his posture.
Johnson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Johnson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Turner looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Turner looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Turner!

Johnson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Turner off and has taken his back!

Johnson is throwing shots to the body but Turner manages to wriggle free. Johnson pounces on him again and ends up in Turner's guard.
Turner has his hands on Johnson's head, controlling the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Turner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively.

Turner shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Turner showed some decent athleticism there.

Turner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Turner holds on and takes a little breather.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Turner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Turner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

I would just about give that final round to Steve Turner.
Well Turner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Steve Turner really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Tidal Wave Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
