PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Maverick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cyborg Slaughterhouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cyborg Slaughterhouse!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Cyborg Slaughterhouse hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Maverick postures up in Slaughterhouse's guard and throws a big left but Slaughterhouse blocks it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ground and pound from Maverick seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Maverick tries to move to mount but Slaughterhouse blocks the move with his legs.

Slaughterhouse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maverick swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Slaughterhouse is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Maverick is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Slaughterhouse would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Cyborg Slaughterhouse was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Slaughterhouse rushes Maverick and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Slaughterhouse is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Maverick is keeping busy.
Slaughterhouse has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Maverick avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Seth Maverick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cyborg Slaughterhouse.
Maverick is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Maverick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Maverick throws an elbow that misses. Slaughterhouse uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maverick's guard. Nice move by Slaughterhouse!

Cyborg Slaughterhouse showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Seth Maverick.
I think Slaughterhouse has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
