Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Orion Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Bjj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orion Cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Bjj!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cook uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bjj.
Bjj misses with a wild combination.
Bjj is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cook.
Cook takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Bjj misses the jab.
Cook steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bjj.
Bjj tries to clinch but Cook moves out of range.
A cross from Bjj lands.
Bjj missing with a left hand there. Cook was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Cook counters with a nice uppercut.
Bjj tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cook was well out of range. Poor timing from Bjj.

and Cook connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cook closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bjj circles away.
Bjj dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bjj misses with an uppercut. Cook saw that one coming.
Bjj lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jimmy Bjj seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bjj swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Bjj feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cooks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Bjj has closed the distance and engaged Cook in a clinch.

Bjj pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bjj swings for the body but Cook moves out of range.
Cook uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bjj.
Bjj tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cook counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bjj bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Bjj looks to land a left hand but Cook moved out of range nicely.
Cook circles away from the clinch attempt.

It looks like Jimmy Bjj has been cut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Cook tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cook has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bjj tries to buck Cook off but Cook is having none of it.
Cook in side control, throwing shots but Bjj defends.

Cook thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A close round but Jimmy Bjj will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Bjj throws a lazy right hand but Cook sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bjj digs a good body shot into Cook's ribs.
Cook takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Bjj scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cook doesn't seem bothered though.

Cook looks to land a left hand but Bjj moved out of range nicely.

Cook cracks Bjj with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Bjj looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cook looks to land a right hand but Bjj moved out of range.

Bjj wants to clinch up but Cook keeps it at a distance.

Bjj tries to close the distance and clinch but Cook swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cook takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cook with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bjj to score with a decent uppercut.

Bjj pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice straight punches there by Bjj. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bjj.
Cook looks to throw the jab but Bjj is out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bjj tries to score with a low kick but Cook moves his leg out of the way.
Cook displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bjj throws out the jab.

Jimmy Bjj showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Cook has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cook has gone for a leg lock! Bjj slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cook's guard.

Cook bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bjj's guard.
