Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Bakreek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alejandro Zapata!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zapata takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jeff Bakreek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zapata works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


It looks like Jeff Bakreek has been cut.
Bakreek throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Zapata sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bakreek throws an off balance right hand
letting Zapata counter with a right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bakreek checks a leg kick.
Zapata fails to land the takedown.
Zapata lands with a good body shot.

Zapata throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Bakreek tumbling to the canvas!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bakreek utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Zapata has gone for a leg lock! Bakreek slips out almost immediately though and dives into Zapata's guard.
Bakreek wants to control from the top but Zapata keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Zapata has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bakreek doesn't defend quickly enough and Zapata has managed to lock this one up! Can Bakreek escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Zapata on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Alejandro Zapata!
