Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karim Ware (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Karim Ware!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ware shoots in but Green avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Green gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ware counters with a straight right hand.
Green stuffs the takedown.
Nice takedown defense from Ware. No joy for Green on that attempt.
Green moves in looking to clinch but Ware pushes him off.
Green fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Green. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ware looks to score with a jab to the body but Green is just out of range.
Ware shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Green pinned against the cage. Green gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ware tries to clinch up.
Green goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Ware looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Green is fending him off so far but Ware persists. Nope, Green circles away and we're back to standing.

Ware shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Green napping and manages to drive through into side control!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Green is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ware connects with a decent elbow.
Ware prevents Green from escaping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ware controls the position from side control.
Green on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Ware in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Green wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Ware is looking to take a break and control but Green is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Green is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Ware has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Green seems a little lost for a moment, as Ware dominates the positioning.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ware lands a couple of good shots and Green has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Green rolls, trying to escape but Ware keeps control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


The fight stays on the outside here - Ware looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Green stuffs the takedown.
Green fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Green fails to land the takedown.

Ware drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ware has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Ware tries to control but Green wriggling away.
Ware content just to control the position here.

Let's hope that Ware has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Green tries to hold on but Ware pushes him away.
Ware landing strikes, looking to finish!

Ware wants to finish this one by submission but Green is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ware.
Green is squirming around, avoiding Ware's attempts to control the action.

Ware working for a guillotine from mount but Green is in no mood to give up.
Ware lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Green is in a horrible position here. Ware smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Green looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ware wants to finish this one by submission but Green is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ware.

Green is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Ware cracks Green with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Green is trying to stand up.
Ware looking to control and managing it successfully.
Ware avoids the attempt from Green to control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Green is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Ware wants to control the pace but Green is squirming around nicely.
Ware might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Green haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ware wants to stand but Green is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karim Ware showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Green changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ware tries to avoid it but Green manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ware to the ground. Ware escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ware is looking to clinch.
Ware circles away from the clinch attempt.
Green throws a series of punches but Ware avoids them all with ease.

Green tries to keep at a distance but Ware has taken the fight into the clinch.

Green breaks the clinch.
Ware throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
John Green is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ware fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Green avoids it really well and circles away.
Ware throws a right and a left that Green avoids nicely.
Green lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ware at a distance.

Ware shoots in for a takedown but Green shows good takedown defense.
Ware misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
John Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karim Ware.
Ware takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ware tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Green manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ware takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Green tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ware swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ware throws a sloppy head kick and Green moves out of range easily.
Green tries to clinch up but Ware circles away and keeps his distance.
Ware dives in and grabs Green's left leg, looking for a takedown. Green pushes down on Ware's head and hops out.
Green keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Green wants to clinch up but Ware keeps it at a distance.

Green has taken the fight to the clinch.
Green dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Ware fails to pull guard.

Ware breaks the clinch.

Green tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ware paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ware is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Green throws a push kick but Ware slaps the foot to one side.

Ware drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Green is looking to regain half guard here but Ware keeps moving and retains side control.
Ware advances to full mount.
Green is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Green is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Ware can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Green is looking to escape.
Ware cracks Green with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Ware wants to control the pace but Green is squirming around nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ware tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Karim Ware.
I've got Ware winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
