Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ness .
Ness fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ness connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sanders. Sanders circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ness slips a straight right by Sanders.
Sanders fails to land with a series of punches.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ness enables Sanders to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ness manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sanders accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ness has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sanders can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ness wants to sweep but no luck.

Sanders must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sanders throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ness works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ness is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sanders throws a big elbow that misses.
Ness is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sanders stands up from Ness 's guard - Sanders perhaps looking for a knockout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ness 's corner calls for a 1-2. Ness obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Ness gets caught flat footed, as Sanders shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanders stands and throws Ness 's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ness is looking for a sweep.
Sanders really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ness . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sanders working away.

Sanders decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Sanders drops his hands momentarily and Ness takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Sanders looks winded!
Sanders misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Ness counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Sanders moves into the clinch.
Ness trying to stall but Sanders improves his position.
Ness jumps guard but Sanders stands there with Ness around his waist. Ness gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sanders breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sanders on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Sanders closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ness did well to prevent Sanders getting side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ness works his way to full guard. Good work.

Sanders won't allow Ness to sweep him here.
Sanders postures up.
Sanders sitting in guard here, content to control.
Sanders working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Ness pushes a forearm under Sanders's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sanders is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
