The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thafa, pushing him back against the cage.
Thafa fails to pull guard.
Hardy unloads a knee to the mid-section. Thafa lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Thafa drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hardy wants to control from the top but Thafa keeps moving.
Hardy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Thafa keeping moving, preventing Hardy from controlling successfully.
Hardy is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Tarriff Hardy hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hardy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thafa circles away quickly and effectively.
Thafa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hardy is trying to defend but Thafa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Thafa is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hardy is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
