Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cameron Cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cameron Cage!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos doesn't manage to clinch there - Cage circles away.
Santos fails to land the takedown.
Santos misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Cage gets a takedown into half guard.
Santos wants to control but Cage is keeping busy.
Santos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Santos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Santos is trying to control but can't.
Cage content to control rather than advance.
Cage is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santos keeps working.

Cage wants to work for an arm triangle but Santos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Cage is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Santos sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are battling for position here. Santos manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Cage is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Santos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Santos has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cage is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Santos is aware though and is defending well.

Santos lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Cage isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Santos stacks Cage on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Santos!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Cage wants to get back to his feet but Santos is dominant here and he's now got Cage's back!
Santos is hanging on to Cage's back as he tries to escape.
Santos is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Cage. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Cage is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Santos has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Cage has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Cage manages to reverse the position and now he's in Santos's guard. Nice work there by Cage.

Cage controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Santos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cage can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Santos is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Santos misses with a takedown attempt - Cage sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Cage decides to stand and escape the position.

Santos can't keep his opponent in guard - Cage advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Cage is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Santos has managed to free his arm - good work.

Santos wants to get back to his feet.
Cage works his foot free and advances to mount.

Cage stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Cage fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Santos sprawls well initially but Cage persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cage seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Cage tries to pass the half guard into mount. Santos knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Santos wants to improve his position but Cage is controlling well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Santos is looking to control Cage's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Santos avoid being mounted?
Cage tries to stand but can't do so whilst Santos controls his leg.

Santos gets full guard.

Cage decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Santos, up you get!

Cage pushes down on Santos's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Cage looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cage stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Santos gets caught flat footed, as Cage shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Santos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cage is one step ahead there.
Cage trying to control but Santos is working from the bottom.

Santos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cage is aware though and is defending well.

Cage drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Santos dives on top into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Santos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cage has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Santos has managed to get both his arms back between Cage's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cameron Cage showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Cage wants to control the pace but Santos is squirming around nicely.

Cage is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Santos has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Santos!

Cage looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Santos passes into side control.
Cage takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Santos trying to control the position but Cage is working away.
Cage manages to get back to half guard.

Santos is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Cage still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Cage has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Cage is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Santos is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cage is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Santos knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Santos is trying to get back to half guard.

Santos is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Cage is controlling him well.
Cage is looking to take a break and control but Santos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cage thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cage has hold of Santos's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Santos tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Cage cranks the arm and Santos screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Santos, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Cameron Cage!
