Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Macky Jawara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillip Askos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Macky Jawara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phillip Askos!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jawara fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Askos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jawara's waist but Jawara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Askos off to one side.
Askos has a takedown stuffed.
Askos tries to bum rush Jawara with a series of wild strikes but Jawara uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That kick from Askos tenderised Jawara's leg. Jawara is trying to keep his angry face on.
Askos takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jawara tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Askos takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jawara takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Askos shoots in for a takedown but Jawara shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Macky Jawara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phillip Askos.

Askos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jawara as he avoids it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jawara lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Askos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jawara sprawls well. Jawara wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Askos gets slowly back to his feet.

Jawara throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Askos on the side of the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jawara thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Askos trying to control the hands but Jawara won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Askos shoots in looking for a takedown. Jawara tries to sprawl out of it but Askos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jawara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Askos.

Jawara stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Askos dives in and grabs Jawara's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jawara pushes down on Askos's head and hops out.
Jawara scores with a one two! Askos had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Askos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Jawara connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Askos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Askos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Askos lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jawara!

Askos throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Askos is looking to stand but Askos has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Jawara is desperately trying to improve his position but Askos has a good base and remains in mount.
Phillip Askos has got the better of the ground game so far.

Askos is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jawara has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jawara!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We're going to have a standup here because Macky Jawara wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Macky Jawara.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jawara, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
