Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Barry Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Hanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Craig Hanks told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!

With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Allen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Craig Hanks!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hanks misses with a straight right.
Hanks connects with an inside leg kick.
Allen lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nice straight punches there by Hanks. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hanks.
Hanks takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Allen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hanks listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Allen moves away from the strike by Hanks.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Allen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hanks throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Allen misses with a looping right.
Hanks dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Allen feints and then cracks Hanks's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hanks down.
The fighters circling - Allen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Allen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hanks counters with a thumping low kick.
Allen misses with an uppercut
and Hanks counters with a nice leg kick.

and Hanks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Allen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Allen swings for the body but Hanks moves out of range.
Allen misses with a shot to the body
and Hanks makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Hanks dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Allen. That did some damage!
Hanks uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Allen has time to react.

Allen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hanks.
Hanks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Allen just misses with a punch to the body.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Allen throws a lazy right hand but Hanks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Craig Hanks seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hanks throws a head kick that misses.
Hanks throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hanks misses with a wild body shot.

Allen moves out of range of the strikes.
Allen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Allen checks a leg kick.
Hanks staying out of range there.
Allen looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Allen connects with a solid leg kick.

Allen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hanks lands a slapping body shot.
Hanks tries to move into range but Allen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Allen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hanks throws the left hand but Allen avoids the punch easily.

Allen takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hanks uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Allen has time to react.
A decent looking cross lands there for Allen.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hanks fails to land with a series of punches.

Hanks lands a big head kick that sends Allen tumbling to the mat! Hanks takes a step backwards and waves Allen back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Allen is rocked!

BOOM! Hanks lands a beautiful left hook that drops Allen. Allen tries to recover but Hanks is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Allen lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Craig Hanks!
