Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mad Dog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Floyd Mondello!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mondello throws a shot to the body.
A jab from Mondello misses.
Mad Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dog shoots in looking for a takedown but Mondello manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dog's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dog is defended easily by Mondello.
Mondello throws an overhand right that lands on Dog's shoulder, as Dog tries to avoid the shot.
Mondello throws a shot to the body.
Dog shoots in but Mondello avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mad Dog. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mondello looks to score with a jab to the body but Dog is just out of range.
Dog keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mondello.
Dog misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dog misses with a wild combination.
Mondello throws a shot from downtown. Dog moves away and avoids it.
Dog shoots in for a takedown but Mondello shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mondello leaves Dog with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dog shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mondello as he avoids it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dog closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mondello circles away.
Dog has a takedown stuffed.
Dog is breathing heavily.
Mondello cracks Dog with a good jab.
Mondello defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dog.
Dog walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like Mad Dog has been cut.
Dog fails to land the takedown.
Dog takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Mondello digs a good hook to Dog's body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mondello lands a slapping body shot.
Mondello lands with a nice body punch.
Mondello slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Mondello lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Mondello thuds a left hand into Dog's body.
Mondello scores with a shot to the body.
Mondello throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dog stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mondello drops Dog with a beautiful combination! Dog stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Mondello is looking for the KO!
Mondello lands with a nice body punch.
Dog moves forwards but Mondello connects with a nice, crisp jab.


Dog is rocked!
Mondello fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dog looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Oh Dog is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mondello lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dog at a distance.

Mondello sends Dog crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mondello is motioning to the referee to let Dog up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Mondello lands a jab to Dog's midsection.
Mondello drops Dog with a big left hand! Dog is injured, injured bad! Mondello jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Floyd Mondello!
In his post fight interview, Floyd Mondello started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
