The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopette loads up on a big right hand but Mikel slips the punch.
Mikel fails with the takedown
and Lopette counters with a right hand to the body.
Mikel with a lazy takedown attempt
and Lopette makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Lopette misses with a wild body shot.
Mikel misses with a takedown attempt
and Lopette counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mikel's knee momentarily.
Bornas Lopette has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pete Mikel.

Lopette tries a body shot but Mikel blocks it.
Lopette throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mikel blocks it with crossed arms.
Mikel tries to pull guard but Lopette holds him up against the cage and eventually Mikel drops back down to his feet.
Lopette lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Lopette lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Mikel jumps into guard, dragging Lopette to the mat.

Lopette tries to bum rush Mikel with a series of wild strikes but Mikel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mikel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lopette tries to avoid it but Mikel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lopette to the ground. Lopette escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mikel closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lopette to the mat! Lopette manages to get full guard.

Lopette has his hands on Mikel's head, controlling the position.
Lopette wants to sweep here but Mikel controlling him for the moment.
Lopette pulls Mikel in close to his closed guard and prevents Mikel from doing any damage or advancing position.

Mikel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Mikel's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lopette throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mikel on the side of the head.

and Lopette counters with a thumping low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Lopette counters with a head kick that drops Mikel to the mat! Mikel scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Mikel is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mikel is aggressively charging in as Lopette backs up avoiding any damage. Lopette tosses out a jab and Mikel runs right into it face first! Mikel is out cold! Lopette dropped down on all fours and is barking in Mikel's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

A relieved looking Bornas Lopette thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
