Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fidel Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Mewes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Mewes misses.
Mewes throws a series of strikes that have Mendez backpedaling.
It looks like Fidel Mendez has been cut.
Mendez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mewes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mendez is in Mewes's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mendez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mewes throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Mendez working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mewes's head.
Mewes looking for a sweep. Not yet Mewes, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mendez slips nicely into half guard.

Mendez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mewes has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mewes has hold of Mendez's hands but Mendez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Mendez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Mewes is looking to control Mendez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mewes avoid being mounted?
Mendez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mendez works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mendez lands a couple of good shots and Mewes has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Mewes manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mendez's guard. Nice work there by Mewes.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mendez is on top in guard.

Mewes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mendez is trying to stand.
Mendez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mendez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mewes pulls his head out easily.
Mewes prevents Mendez from standing back up.
Mendez is looking to control Mewes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mendez avoid being mounted?

Mewes pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Mewes thowing shots but they're missing.
Mewes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mendez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mendez is looking to get to half guard.
Mewes looking to control but Mendez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Mewes working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mendez regains half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mendez is trying to stand.
Mewes missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Mendez pushes Mewes off looking to stand but Mewes dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mendez shoots in for a takedown but Mewes shows good takedown defense.
Mendez checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Mendez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mewes avoids it really well and circles away.
Danga de danga de dang - Mewes scores with a four punch combination!
Mendez is rocked!
A slapping leg kick lands for Mewes.
Oh Mendez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mewes cracks Mendez on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Mendez falls backwards against the cage. Mewes follows up with more strikes that drop Mendez to his knees. Mewes keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Mendez! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Mewes!
