Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sheldon Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Sapp!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cooper cracks Sapp with an open hand slap.
Sapp tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cooper swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The referee calls for Sapp to work.

Sapp manages to break the clinch.
Sapp connects with a high kick.


It looks like Sheldon Cooper has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cooper closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sapp circles away.
Sapp stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sapp wants it to stay on the feet.

Sapp closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sapp lands in his opponent's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Sapp is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sapp wanted to stand there but Cooper had control of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sapp looking to pass the guard.
Sapp not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bob Sapp hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sapp lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Sapp fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cooper avoids it really well and circles away.
Sapp throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sapp dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cooper. That did some damage!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sapp has closed the distance and engaged Cooper in a clinch.
Cooper is working for takedown but Sapp is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sheldon Cooper. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sapp is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cooper is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sapp to the mat. Sapp regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Cooper is breathing heavily.
Sapp is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Sapp is pulling down on Cooper's head. It's preventing any offense from Cooper, at least for the moment.

Sapp working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cooper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cooper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sapp looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cooper is one step ahead there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sapp looking to control.

Sapp manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Sapp is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cooper on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Sapp throws a nice head kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sapp feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Cooper crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bob Sapp!
After the fight, Bob Sapp was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
