PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dudley Bradshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dudley Bradshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bradshaw walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Bradshaw decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bradshaw is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bradshaw is looking to advance position but Johnson won't allow it.
Johnson tries to get to full guard but Bradshaw has control of the leg.

Bradshaw is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.
Bradshaw throwing shots but Johnson is blocking nicely.
Bradshaw takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bradshaw lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Johnson is staying active underneath Bradshaw, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bradshaw tries to pass the half guard into mount. Johnson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bradshaw is nestled in close to Johnson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bradshaw working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bradshaw passes to side control.
Bradshaw is chipping away with strikes.


It looks like Jack Johnson has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson prevents Bradshaw from moving into mount.

You can see the frustration on Johnson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bradshaw has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bradshaw wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bradshaw's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Bradshaw not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Bradshaw wants to work for an arm triangle but Johnson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.

Bradshaw is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The cut above Jack Johnson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Johnson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Bradshaw has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Johnson swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bradshaw lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Jack Johnson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jack Johnson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dudley Bradshaw!
In his post fight interview, Dudley Bradshaw started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
