PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Binse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommie Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gunn's choice of entrance music: Don't Shoot Shotgun. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Binse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommie Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Binse thuds his right hand into Gunn's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Binse misses with a low kick.
Gunn blocks a low kick nicely.

Gunn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Binse is trying to defend but Gunn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gunn is thwarting Binse's attempts to control the position.
Binse is staying active underneath Gunn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That was a close round but I would say that Christopher Binse will probably get the nod.

Binse manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gunn on his heels. He'll look to pass Gunn's guard now, I'm sure.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gunn is on top in guard.
Gunn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Binse lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gunn!

Binse has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gunn's face.

Binse is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Binse gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Binse gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Binse apologises and we restart here on the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Christopher Binse.
